Restaurant Fink Südtirol Italien News Martini Gansl Essen beim Fink

The Martini-Goose at the Fink

Thursday 11 November to Tuesday 16 November
Numerous legends surround the Martini goose. It supposedly has its origin in a legend about Martin's life: against his own will and despite the reservations of the clergy, the people of Tours urged Martin to consecrate him bishop. Ascetic and humble as he led his life, he considered himself unworthy of such a great responsibility. He hid in a goose stable to avoid episcopal ordination. However, the geese chattered so excitedly that Martin was found and could be consecrated. Another story says that a chattering flock of geese waddled into the church room, interrupting Bishop Martin during his sermon. They were captured and processed into a meal.
